Some cats are more susceptible than others to flea bites. They exhibit allergic reactions to the saliva of fleas and will suffer intense itch that will make their life miserable.
Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD) is quite common, and you may notice your cat has red, inflamed skin. This may lead to hair loss through over-grooming. Small red crusts on the back and rump may appear, which is called miliary dermatitis.

Only complete eradication of the all the life stages of fleas will protect your cat from Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD).
