FAQs

Find out if someone already asked your question

Q: Can Vectra® for Cats and Kittens be used on pets other than cats?

No. Do not use VCK on dogs, or any other animal. For dogs, we recommend Vectra 3D® or Vectra® for Dogs and Puppies.

Q: Do fleas have to bite in order for VCK to work?

No. Vectra® for Cats and Kittens kills fleas through contact with your pet's fur. No biting necessary.

Q: How does Vectra® for Cats and Kittens kill fleas?

Vectra® for Cats and Kittens protects your pet with two powerful active ingredients. Dinotefuran is the insecticide that works in combination with Pyriproxifen, an insect growth regulator (IGR). Vectra efficacy data confirms VCK has one of the fastest onsets of action of any flea product, with long-lasting protection against all stages of fleas.

Q: How quickly does VCK begin to work?

Clinical studies have shown that fleas are killed in 6 hours on cats and kittens treated with the active ingredients in Vectra® for Cats and Kittens.

Q: Is it okay to apply VCK more than once a month?

No, only apply VCK once in a 30-day period. It is not necessary for more frequent applications - Vectra® for Cats and Kittens provides powerful protection against fleas for a full month.

Q: What age does my cat need to be before I can apply VCK?

Vectra® for Cats and Kittens can be used on kittens as young as 8 weeks of age.

Q: Where can I buy Vectra® for Cats and Kittens?

Vectra® for Cats and Kittens is only authorized for purchase from your veterinarian. If you come across VCK being sold anywhere else, please let us know at 1-800-999-0297.

Q: Why am I still seeing fleas on my cat after applying VCK?

While VCK does kill on contact, it is possible that you could still see fleas on your cat for a period of time. Usually these are new fleas existing in the environment, or fleas that have been exposed to VCK and have yet to perish.
